Nevada board clears several senior executives, including MGM’s Hornbuckle and Flutter’s Bryant

Hornbuckle, who described major international projects and an ongoing $12.5 billion development in Yumashima, Japan, answered questions about how he prioritizes a portfolio that spans global developments and the company’s digital business. ‘‘We and our partner at Oryx are spending 12 and a half billion dollars on a complex there…’’ Hornbuckle told the board in response to questions about his attention and time commitment.
Flutter chair John Bryant and other candidates — including Ken Ostimpowski and Mark Hughes for key executive roles at Caesars properties and Tammy Smith for a general manager license at Nevada Restaurant Services Inc. — appeared and answered routine suitability questions about experience, time on the job and governance oversight. Board members focused on conflicts, time allocation and regulatory cooperation; agents reported no outstanding concerns from the investigations into the applicants’ backgrounds.
All of the motions to recommend approval for these nonrestricted items carried by unanimous roll-call votes after members said staff and agents had completed thorough investigations.
What’s next: The board’s recommendations will be forwarded to the Nevada Gaming Commission for final action; applicants will be subject to any administrative conditions the commission imposes and continued compliance monitoring by Nevada agents.
