Nevada district approves three-year snow-removal contract with single bidder

The Nevada Community School District Board approved a three-year contract Oct. 6, 2025, for snow and ice removal with a single responding vendor, Construct.
S5 told the board the district solicited bids from five vendors but received only Construct’s response. "Last year, we spent, just a little over 23,000 on snow removal," S5 said, and the board noted the district has budgeted $30,000 for the service. Board members discussed vehicle and equipment impacts and emphasized vendor care of concrete and curbs.
The motion to approve Construct’s proposal as presented was made and seconded; the board approved the contract for a three-year term covering fiscal years 2026–2028, as described in meeting remarks. The board did not read contract dollar amounts beyond the prior-year spending figure in the public record.
District staff said they will circulate an updated P-card/spending spreadsheet and continue to monitor fleet and procurement matters at future meetings.
