Commissioners ratify $387,300 emergency procurements; staff says flood repairs to date near $6.4 million

County staff presented Ratification No. 13, an emergency procurement totaling $387,300.44 for about 22 completed flood projects. "This amount is $387,300.44," the presenter stated. Staff said the completed and in-progress work brings the running total for flood work paid to roughly $6,400,000.
Staff described ongoing coordination with the Maryland Department of the Environment and said they are working to get remaining projects done before winter; one official said they expect the active jobs to be completed within the next two to three weeks but that the winter season may reveal additional issues that will require further work. The commission moved and approved the ratification by voice vote.
A commissioner noted that the county has been the primary funder so far and that representatives will press state officials in Annapolis about additional funding. Staff said a meeting with the Department of Budget and Management was planned in the near term to request further support.
