On capital projects, administrators previewed press-box and concessions renderings for Speck Nelson Stadium that would improve accessibility and add restrooms and storage. They described five roofing bid packages (separate packages for Meadows, Wildwood, a high-school A-wing tear-off, middle-school tear-off, and a refurbishment package) intended to spread contractor capacity across multiple openings. The district reported a special building fund balance in the mid-teens of millions (approx. $16.6M before accounting for this month—s expenditures) with roughly $3M still obligated against planned projects and a goal to maintain approximately $5M by project completion.
Administrators outlined a bid timeline (pre-bid walk-through Nov. 26, phase-2 bid opening Dec. 4 and roofing bid openings in January) and said some phase-2 stadium work could begin before winter when safe; roofing would be scheduled for the summer construction window.
Board members asked for further vendor comparisons on plow/dump options and for staff to return with recommendations to allow purchase while vehicles remained available on dealer lots.
