County approves grant applications for Manchester stormwater and Public Safety Training Center retrofits

Separately, staff sought $1,750,000 to retrofit a wet stormwater management facility at the Public Safety Training Center into an enlarged surface sand filter system, which staff said delivers enhanced nutrient removal and thermal benefits and would provide roughly 15.21 impervious‑acre credit toward the county’s NPDES permit obligations.
Both motions to submit the grant applications and accept awards if offered were seconded and approved by the board. Staff noted that projects vary in per‑acre cost depending on location and complexity, and that the county’s five‑year permit currently lists an impervious‑acre restoration target.
