Summary
The board approved lead-partner contracts (CT3, The Kirkland Group, English Learners Engage, Kids First among those named) to provide professional development and coaching for principals, teachers and instructional leaders; contracts are funded through Title I-A and Title II-A and include monitoring clauses tied to MAP results.
The Jackson Public School District board approved lead-partner contracts to provide professional development and coaching support for school leaders and classroom teachers.
Dr. Regina Scott, executive director of school support, presented the recommended providers selected through a two-step procurement process. Scott said the list of lead partners (including CT3, English Learners Engage, Kids First and The Kirkland Group) had been presented for information previously and were returned for approval after consultation with district and school leaders.
Scott told the board the partner contracts are fully funded with federal Title I-A and Title II-A funds. She described a two-step review in which a panel vetted proposals against RFP specifications, including past performance, and district and school leaders provided input during a second phase. Scott said the district monitors MAP data and that if a partner’s work does not show a positive impact on student achievement the district will request additional days of support from that partner.
A board member moved to approve items c and d (the lead partner contracts); the motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote with no nays recorded on the public transcript.
District staff said monitoring and follow-up are built into contracts to address performance concerns. The board did not record contract dollar totals or individual provider assignments to specific schools in the public transcript.
