Harvey County approves $5,000 allocation to Stand program from alcohol and drug fund

Harvey County commissioners voted Nov. 18 to allocate $5,000 from the Harvey County Alcohol and Drug Program Fund to the Stand program for 2025.
Staff noted the fund's revenues run about $5,000 per year and reported a fund balance of $7,598 as of Sept. 30, 2025. "That's what we've historically given...we allocate $5,000 to them," staff said, describing the county's customary support for the Stand program.
A commissioner moved to allocate the $5,000; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners who spoke expressed support for the program based on prior experience and benefits to the community.
The allocation was presented as a one-year grant from the special alcohol and drug fund; staff did not present a multi-year contract or additional conditions at the meeting. The board took no other budget action at the Nov. 18 meeting.
