District honors Greeley West student top-10 finishes and recognizes UCHealth partnership for CPR training

The board recognized six Greeley West High School students who placed in the top 10% nationally in the High School of Business exams and honored UCHealth staff for partnering with the district to deliver CPR and wellness programming that has certified more than 1,100 staff members.
The Board of Education opened its Oct. 27 business meeting by recognizing student achievement and a healthcare partnership.
Vice President Bentley announced that six students from Greeley West High School scored in the top 10% nationally on the High School of Business final exams for the 2024–25 cycle and invited those present to the podium. Students and their instructor, Julie Ratliff, were recognized for the program’s rigor and the district’s concurrent-enrollment focus.
District leaders also recognized UCHealth representatives for their work delivering American Heart Association CPR, first aid and AED certifications to district staff and for coordinating the Healthy Hearts & Minds student outreach program. District staff said Joanna (UCHealth) has issued more than 1,100 certifications to staff and charter-school personnel and has expanded classroom-based “hands-only CPR” instruction to multiple grade levels across the district.
Board members framed both recognitions as examples of district partnerships that support student and staff safety and career readiness. The recognitions were presented as non-action items and required no vote.
Next steps: The district will continue partnerships with community health providers and maintain recognition programs for student achievements in district and national competitions.
