Students honored across Ontario SD 8C; student leaders report on activities and athletics

Dana Hernandez, public relations officer at Ontario High School (speaking for the ASB), listed homecoming activities, senior fundraisers, a junior-class cakewalk and FFA participation; she noted two students placed among top finalists at an agricultural science competition and detailed upcoming FFA job-interview events.
Elena Ayala Trujillo, Ontario Middle School student body president, described expanded leadership programming (FCA and SMILE), higher participation in student clubs and sports-season recaps — seventh-grade volleyball (7–4) and cross-country personal records. Board members thanked the students and praised staff for increasing engagement opportunities.
Separately, principals and assistant principals from multiple schools brought forward students of the month and safety-award winners, highlighting consistent attention to safety practices, peer leadership and service.
