Utah House opens 2009 general session with invocation, anthem and pledge

Following the prayer, a member of the Crimson 4 performed the national anthem. Curtis then invited Representative Clark's grandchildren—Ashton Thane, Branston Thane, Sierra Clark, Jackson Clark and Jory Clark—to lead the chamber in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Curtis also acknowledged the Utah National Guard color guard and named its members, and introduced the Crimson 4 performers and their pianist. The musical group performed additional numbers invoking themes of hope and prayer before the chamber moved on to other business.
