Stormwater pipe failure near Mill Valley High will close Monticello for several weeks, city says

“The replacement reinforced concrete box should be delivered by August 18,” Doug Donahue, communications director, said in the council meeting wrap. City staff said the failure accelerated the need for replacement and that crews anticipate starting work in mid-September, with Monticello closed to traffic for roughly three to four weeks to complete the repair.
Why it matters: the failed pipe is adjacent to a school and required expedited scheduling of materials and crew time; the closure will affect local traffic and will be coordinated with schools and residents. The city said additional details will be provided as plans are finalized.
