Addison approves consent agenda including $560,625 Vactor purchase and pump-station rebuild

The Village of Addison approved its consent agenda during a combined committees and village board meeting on Monday, Nov. 18, approving several financial and procurement items recommended earlier by committee.

The board cleared three accounts-payable directives: Directive 25-41 for $452,719.73; Directive 25-42 for $471,485.21; and Directive 25-43 for $1,484,689.38. Those directives were presented and recommended for approval by the committee and then adopted as part of the board’s consent agenda.

The board also authorized the purchase of a 2025 Vactor 2100i from Standard Equipment Company of Elmhurst under a Sourcewell contract, with a contract price of $560,625 and a requested authorization not to exceed $595,625 to allow for trade-in/options. "The Village of Addison has a really unique opportunity here because we are in need of replacing our Vactor," said Joe, a staff member, explaining that the unit is in stock and would avoid long lead times and potential price increases.

Separately, the board approved award of bid 24-10-1 to Benchmark Sales & Service (Illinois) to rebuild a single-stage vertical turbine pump at the Diversey Avenue pump station for a not-to-exceed amount of $180,000. According to staff, two bids were received and Benchmark submitted the lowest bid; the work is part of the village’s preventative maintenance program.

The consent agenda motion was moved, seconded and approved; the transcript records the board’s roll-call on the consent agenda and the chair announced the consent agenda was approved. Other routine minutes and procedural approvals were also adopted earlier in the meeting.

The meeting concluded after several routine reports and announcements from village staff and the board adjourned.
