At the start of a Sept. 23 special meeting the Evansville Parks Board approved routine business and consent items, including a park property use agreement with Filthy Vintage Clothing and a change order for the Stockwell Foosball project.
The board approved the change order that deducts $5,220.20 for final seed and straw on the Stockwell Foosball project. Director Crook requested permission to seek contractor quotes to repave the Howell Park parking lot, noting the lot has several large potholes requires additional ADA markings and striping. "This parking lot is in great need," Director Crook said, asking the board to authorize seeking quotes.
The board accepted payroll and vendor claims and heard the director’s report: staff attended a field day testing electric mowers and tools to reduce emissions, the department received a grant for Stephenson Park improvements and park chats for the second ward are being scheduled in October. The meeting then adjourned.
Staff committed to send board members detailed project and bid information after the meeting in advance of the Oct. 2 meeting so commissioners can review estimates and vendor selections.
