Planner/legal staff explained that the Indiana Department of Natural Resources provided a split-zone draft, which was reviewed by the county’s drainage board and the area planning commission (APC). The presenter said the APC had approved the draft and the drainage board had reviewed it; the amendment was presented to the commissioners for formal adoption. "Anything that was in the prior ordinance that is contrary to this one is void," staff said, and commissioners agreed to assign the amendment an ordinance number.
A motion to approve the amendment, based on the county attorney’s summary that the amendment would take precedence over conflicting prior language, was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. County staff indicated they would confirm the exact prior ordinance number in administrative records.
