Mundelein — At its Nov. 11 meeting the Village Board authorized engineering and equipment agreements for two public‑works items: a design agreement for the village’s 2025 joint resurfacing project and a contractor authorization for programmable logic controller (PLC) upgrades to the water system.

Trustee Ross moved to authorize the director of public works and engineering to execute a preliminary engineering services agreement with Joel Hamilton Associates for the 2025 resurfacing design and to approve purchase order #14348 in the amount of $22,655; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote. Trustee Ross noted a list of the streets included in the resurfacing scope is available at page 38 of the meeting packet.

In a separate motion Trustee Ross moved to adopt a resolution to waive competitive bidding and authorize an agreement with Concentric Integration to complete upgrades to the water PLC system, approving purchase order #14367 in the amount of $44,500; the motion was seconded and carried on roll call. Trustees recorded affirmative votes as the mayor announced the motions carried.

The board did not discuss additional funding sources for these purchases during the meeting; meeting materials identified the purchase order numbers and amounts and the resurfacing street list referenced in the packet. Staff did not introduce amendments to either motion at the meeting; both were passed as presented.
