Staff reports Wawa site, Patriot Defense expansion and high-school outdoor projects; new admin assistant announced

Planning staff delivered the Technical Review Committee report for June 19 and highlighted three items under review: a proposed Wawa subdivision and site improvements at the northeast corner of Earlywood Drive and US-31 (pending resubmittal), a Patriot Defense site-development plan at 2011 Earlywood Drive including an additional maintenance building, and a suite of outdoor projects for Franklin Community High School (a new band practice field, an agricultural building for ag students, accessory theater structure, and turf installation for soccer and baseball fields).
Joanna (planning staff) said the Wawa and Patriot Defense matters remain under review and that the high-school projects have been resubmitted for construction approval. She noted that staff scrutinized elevations and models extensively for subdivision proposals referenced later in the meeting.
In other business, staff announced the retirement of Julie and the hiring of a new administrative assistant, Rachel Thompson, who will begin work July 28 and attend the August planning commission meeting.
