The Timberlane Regional School District budget committee on Nov. 20 approved multiple personnel requests after reviewing rationale and costs.
Five TTA SPED facilitator positions (one per elementary and one at the high school) were approved for inclusion in the proposed budget; the committee recorded a total salary impact for those positions of $26,232.69. "These facilitators act as schedulers and the single point of contact for families," Speaker 3 said while describing the role. Speaker 5 moved to accept the request and the motion carried with a recorded vote reported in the meeting as 6 in favor and 1 opposed.
The committee also approved an increase to the district’s out‑of‑district coordinator contract — raising the annual amount to $97,135.90 with additional days costing $17,038.59 — by a recorded vote of 4 in favor and 3 opposed. Administration said the out‑of‑district coordinator’s caseload requires extended year support to coordinate placements and extended school year (ESY) services.
A requested salary adjustment for the senior technology specialist was taken under advisement for further review; the committee voted to send that item back for more detail and comparables (recorded vote 5 in favor, 2 opposed). Administration said the adjustment aims to align the senior tech’s pay with assumed responsibilities and bargaining unit comparables.
What’s next: Human Resources and Finance will update personnel and salary lines as approved and prepare supporting details for the senior technology specialist adjustment to return at a future meeting.
