Daryl (HPC staff) briefed the commission on a completed resource survey of lots within the city's five historic districts, prepared under the supervision of Professor Jennifer Dickey; staff have entered the data into the State of Georgia Department of Community Affairs system and are awaiting DCA review. Staff also said Ethos Preservation submitted red‑line comments comparing adopted HPC standards and Central Business District standards; staff will package findings and recommended changes for commission review.
To streamline future reviews, staff said they are exploring expanded administrative approvals (with chair signature for eligible small projects) to accelerate minor rehabilitation and addition approvals without bypassing established code. Commissioners requested accessible background materials in meeting packets; staff agreed to provide PowerPoint or PDF background files and a Dropbox link so commissioners can review and mark up consultant red lines ahead of meetings.
