County approves $6,020.42 concrete bid for courthouse parking-lot repairs; elevator recall repair noted and ADA entrance proposal to come

Facilities and highway staff reviewed the deteriorated condition of the south courthouse parking-lot entrance and sidewalk. Highway staff estimated internal costs for resurfacing to be about $6,000; a concrete contractor, Steve Riessell, submitted a bid of $6,020.42 for concrete work to repair the damaged sidewalk and provide a concrete pad as recommended by staff. Speaker 8 recommended accepting the bid and coordinating with the highway department; the motion to accept the $6,020.42 bid carried.
Staff also said they are preparing a proposal for making the west entrance fully handicap accessible. The preliminary estimate described in the meeting was "somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000." Staff will present full plans and cost breakdown at the next meeting.
