Hand County approves pay raises, accepts resignation and authorizes job advertising

Hand County commissioners approved a set of routine personnel actions, including step/pay increases and acceptance of a resignation, and authorized recruitment for a vacant highway-worker position.
A motion to grant a $1.00 hourly retroactive raise for James Baldrow (from $19.91 to $20.91 effective Aug. 1) carried after a motion and second in open session. The board also approved 75¢ step increases for Chelsea Price (to $25.32) and Edwin/Edwin Alpazar (to $24.00). Each motion was seconded and the chair called for the ayes; the motions passed.
Road superintendent reported that Trey (Trey Blaisdale) had submitted his resignation and commissioners moved to accept the resignation. The board discussed equipment clothing policy for departing employees and agreed to advertise for a replacement highway worker; staff will bring back the staffing plan and payroll numbers at a future meeting.
The actions were recorded on the consent/regular agenda and implemented by payroll staff with retroactive effective dates where specified.
