A board member asked why the budget did not include a larger allocation to restore library services; Superintendent Brian Pulido said larger decisions such as library funding were being held for the upcoming strategic-plan process, noting that major changes should be part of a broader, multi-year plan.
During the motion to approve the schedule of bills a board member said they would abstain because a family member is paid by a vendor to the district; the official roll calls recorded at least one abstention. Board members subsequently approved the payroll and awarded two bids by roll call.
No tax increase was presented to the public in the budget discussion; the board moved to limit the main motion to the printed new business, taking the supplemental items separately by consent.
The meeting recorded customary consent and committee approvals and then moved on to operational updates and supplemental personnel actions.
