Public commenter raises safety concerns at Erie High; board hears updates on buses, renaming session and historian application

Board leadership announced a public community session on a proposed renaming for Harding Elementary will be held Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at Harding Elementary; the session will allow the public to view the renaming proposal, provide feedback and sign up to serve on a review committee that will later recommend whether the board should move forward.
Finally, the board extended the application deadline for the honorary district historian position to Nov. 30 due to technical issues and said resubmissions are requested; interviews by a three‑member board review committee are planned for January.
Next steps: the administration indicated it will continue data review on safety and discipline and that the Dec. 4 session will be the next public opportunity on the Harding naming matter.
