Methacton SD board approves January–February meeting calendar after amendment

The Methacton SD Board of School Directors approved an amended schedule to advertise its committee work sessions and voting meetings for January and February during its Dec. 1 reorganization meeting.
During discussion, board members raised concerns about the timing of committee meetings and the administrative cost of re-posting notices. Dr. Zerbe cautioned about duplicative notices, saying, "...the cost associated with that. So I'm trying to avoid paying for this twice." A board member withdrew the original motion to approve the full posted calendar so the board could make a narrower motion.
A new motion was made to advertise the January and February meetings as posted and to defer approval of the remainder of the school-year calendar until the January board meeting. The amended motion passed on a recorded vote of 9–0.
Board members also discussed moving the property committee to a different weekday to spread committee meetings, and agreed to revisit the full committee calendar in January. The board adjourned after completing the posted business.
