Dr. Roberts then read third and final reading of Ordinance No. 850 to appropriate funds received from the South Carolina opioid recovery fund board and to amend an existing five-year funding agreement with Fairfield Behavioral Services to support the Fairfield opioid response team. The council approved that ordinance 6-0 as well.
The chair opened public hearings on both items and Dr. Roberts noted that no one had signed up to speak; each hearing was closed before the readings and votes. The meeting record does not include dollar amounts for the opioid fund appropriation or changes to the five-year agreement; those specifics were not provided during the reading and vote.
Both ordinances were enacted at the council's meeting and will take effect according to their statutory and administrative timelines.
