Kennesaw council moves into closed session for land and legal matters; ratifies closed session affidavit

At the end of the Aug. 25 work session Councilmember Speaker 2 moved that the mayor and council enter closed session to discuss land and legal matters pursuant to state law; Speaker 8 seconded the motion and the council moved into closed session.
Speaker 2 said the closed session was requested "as allowed by OCGA" for land and legal discussions and, after the closed session, moved that the body direct the presiding officer to execute an affidavit in compliance with OCGA 50‑14‑4 and ratify that the matters discussed in closed session were within the exceptions permitted by Georgia's open meetings law. Speaker 8 seconded the ratification motion and the council approved it by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m. No further business was conducted in open session that night, and the council recorded its ratification and the affidavit as required by state procedures.
