Uxbridge conservation commission issues several certificates of compliance and grants three 3‑year extensions after contractor default

The Town of Uxbridge Conservation Commission on the evening’s agenda issued multiple Certificates of Compliance and approved extensions for three projects whose contractors have yet to begin work.

Chair opened the meeting and the board first approved a certificate of compliance for DVP 312901 (Tabor Road) after staff reported the basins and drainage ways were mowed and DPW comments addressed. The commission then voted to issue a Certificate of Compliance for DEP 3121117 (Sutton Street Culvert) after Todd Wojcicki of Beta Group said construction finished last July and the town placed riprap to stabilize an eroded upstream headwall.

Commissioners also considered three orders of conditions where work had not started because the contractor that had been awarded the contracts went out of business. Speaker 2 explained the bonding company is seeking a replacement contractor. The commission voted three separate motions to extend the orders of conditions (3121137, 3121138 and 3121139) for three years so the town and the bonding company can secure a new contractor and complete the planned scour repairs and small culvert work.

For projects where as‑built stabilization is required, commissioners emphasized the need for clear inspections and photographic evidence before closing files. On multiple votes the board recorded unanimous “Aye” responses and no oppositions.

Next steps: staff will monitor contractor replacements and schedule the usual follow‑up inspections and photographic verifications before issuing final Certificates of Compliance.
