Staff described Xello career inventories, youth apprenticeship job shadows and mock interviews at UWGB as examples of hands‑on activities supporting student planning.
During public comment a parent said the eighth‑grade planning conferences felt "very, very broad, very general," and did not deliver the individualized guidance the family expected. Board members and staff responded by explaining the role of career inventories ("matchmaker"/Xello) and how sophomore‑year reviews and scheduling aim to align career exploration with course selection. Staff noted they will continue to refine lessons and coordinate with families and feeder partners.
The board moved to approve the ACP as presented and the motion carried by voice vote; staff will proceed with implementation and the document will be posted as the district's ACP for the coming year.
