Councilmembers asked for more time to formulate questions, examples and neighborhood photos to include in public materials and urged staff not to release preliminary maps that could be misinterpreted. Multiple members requested photo examples and templates of desired housing types so residents can visualize what the new code would permit. Staff committed to follow up by email, circulate the video recording and resend packet materials.
No formal direction or ordinance vote occurred; the outcome is a request for council comments and permission for staff to schedule public engagement events once scheduling conflicts are resolved. Staff plans to return with draft language and mapping after public outreach and technical drafting.
