Erlanger highlights local businesses, Arbor Day proclamation and community projects at Oct. 7 council meeting

The Erlanger City Council used part of its Oct. 7 meeting to spotlight local businesses, adopt an Arbor Day proclamation and hear public comments from residents and students.
Mark Collier introduced Sarah Mingus, general manager of Pet Suites Erlanger, who said the business is celebrating its 25th year in the community and outlined services and hours. Mayor Jessica Fetti then read a formal proclamation declaring Oct. 11, 2025, Arbor Day in Erlanger and noted the city’s designation as a Tree City USA community since 2022; the proclamation announced a Depot Park Arbor Day celebration with 17 tree plantings, public-works demos, and giveaways.
During public comment, resident Nick Eads thanked the Erlanger Police Department and volunteers for support of the 2025 Dixie Heights Homecoming Parade and reported more than 500 marchers and strong community turnout. A student representing the Lloyd Memorial High School Enviro Conservation Team (identified in the meeting as Chris) requested permission to place a collection box at city hall for aluminum cans to raise about $500 for a water-bottle filling station; councilors agreed and asked the student to coordinate pickup logistics with staff.
The city also reminded residents of a shred day at Public Works the upcoming Saturday, timed with Arbor Day activities.
No formal council action was required for the business spotlight or proclamation beyond adoption of the proclamation and routine event announcements.
