Erlanger reports multiple bid openings for parks, streets and vehicles; all within budget

City Administrator Peter Glenn reported on capital-project bid openings and procurement results during the Aug. 5 Erlanger council meeting.
Glenn said the city opened six bids and that all proposals were within the approved budgets. For street work, Scodeler Construction submitted the low bid for crack-filling at $1.87 per unit; ANA Safety was the low bidder for street striping and pavement markings at $40,249.50. The milling and resurfacing project for Concord Drive received two bids with Eaton Asphalt the low bidder at $286,993.
Glenn also reported vehicle procurement activity for the fire and police departments: one fire-vehicle bid had Don Franklin as the low bidder at $48,327 (two bidders for one vehicle); police-vehicle procurement included five units with Don Franklin as the low bidder at $41,455 per unit for a total vehicle cost of $208,775. Outfitting those five police vehicles produced a low bid to RidgeNet for $79,000.
Glenn said these bids will proceed through the city's standard award and outfitting processes. No council vote on awards was recorded at the meeting; Glenn stated that the projects were out for bids and the low bidders had been identified and were within budget.
Next steps: staff will proceed with bid evaluation and contract awards consistent with procurement rules and project timelines; Concord Drive work will follow water-main work by Northern Kentucky Water and is expected to begin after that work concludes.
