Fiscal Court approves road contracts, culvert work and shortens Garvin Road extension

Greenup County's fiscal court on Oct. 14 approved a series of road and drainage projects, awarded construction bids and adopted a scope change for Garvin Road.

Road Supervisor Henry Patrick presented recommended awards and contract actions. The court awarded the Stringtown Road retaining-wall contract to A and E Construction, approved the Rivendell Road drilling and related work to Henneke Drilling, and authorized box culvert work at Flat Hollow and Little White Oak. Patrick also asked the court to amend a prior plan for Garvin Road (SR 1187), reducing the planned extension from 1,200 feet to 470 feet; the court approved the amendment.

The court also approved an $80,000 agreement and accompanying resolution for Little White Oak Road (County Road 1323) to be funded through CBO 1. Supervisory personnel announced salary adjustments for road employees (David McReynolds and Brandon Vaughn to $20.15/hour effective Oct. 1) and approved a transfer and payment request related to a 2011 Ford F-350.

All motions related to bids, the Garvin Road amendment, salary adjustments and the vehicle transfer were moved, seconded and recorded as approved by the court.
