A motion to appoint Perez passed on roll call. Councilmember Vasquez recorded an abstention; recorded yes votes were entered by Councilmember Martinez, Councilmember Sanavia and Vice Mayor Martinez. The council congratulated Perez and welcomed him to the commission.
Staff noted that the nomination packet had been circulated to council and that a majority vote under the new ordinance procedures would complete the appointment.
