Kennesaw council unanimously approves Adams Park electrical upgrade to improve safety

Kennesaw City Council voted unanimously Monday to approve a resolution to continue electrical service upgrades at Adams Park, city officials said.

Public works staff member Robbie told the council the project is intended to remove and replace electric panels currently located close to spectator bleachers and to make the park’s electrical system safer. "If anybody's been out there, they've seen the electric panels that are close to bleachers...This is a way for us to continue to clean them up and make them safer," Robbie said.

Council discussion was brief. Councilmember Jones moved to approve the resolution and a colleague seconded; the council indicated five members in favor and none opposed. The mayor confirmed the vote as unanimous.

The presentation referenced similar upgrades previously approved for other Adams Park fields; staff said the work continues that effort to modernize and secure outdoor facilities.
