Uxbridge Select Board elects Brian Butler chair; John Wise named vice chair, Brian Plasco clerk

The Uxbridge Select Board reorganized at the start of its meeting, unanimously electing Brian Butler as chair. The board also selected John Wise as vice chair and Brian Plasco as clerk.

The reorganization began after the presiding official explained that the board annually elects a chair, vice chair and clerk following elections. A speaker summarized the roles: the chair sets meeting agendas, runs meetings and calls votes; the vice chair fills in when the chair is absent; the clerk records meeting actions and prepares an annual report.

"I would like to nominate Brian Butler to be our chair," said an unidentified board member during the nominations process. The nomination was seconded, Mr. Butler confirmed he would accept the position, and a roll-call vote returned a unanimous result in favor of his election (5–0).

The new chair then opened nominations for the other offices. John Wise was nominated and elected vice chair by roll-call vote, and Brian Plasco was nominated and elected clerk by roll call. Members congratulated the newly elected officers.

Two board members participated remotely during the reorganization; the group worked through a brief unmuting issue before proceeding. The board then moved on to the next business item.
