Engineers to re-level spreader and replant after silt buildup at Tea Party Drive Basin 3

Town staff and engineers told the Conservation Commission they have observed substantial silt accumulation at Basin 3 on Tea Party Drive and will begin remediation work immediately.
Photos provided to the commission showed an off-grade level spreader and extensive silt that had reduced the basin's effective capacity. Engineers plan to re-level the spreader, replace damaged silt fence and filter fabric, bring loam and sod to fill eroded areas, and place wattles and hay bales diagonally across the swale to slow velocity while plantings establish. Speaker 8 said the cleanup is labor intensive and costly, and that crews plan to start the grade correction the next day.
"We're gonna bring buckets down to fill back what eroded, with loam and sod," Speaker 8 said, describing short-term measures to stabilize the floor of the basin while vegetation reestablishes. Staff estimated the work should take roughly two weeks, weather permitting, and the commission requested a follow-up report when the stabilization is complete.
