Applicant representative Zach Lehi described the driveway as winding and serving just two houses; he said the town has no requirement for a common driveway in this location and urged the board to waive curbing because curbs could redirect existing drainage patterns, create maintenance problems after plowing, and be quickly damaged. A local plow operator explained that curbs on a curving driveway would be repeatedly struck by plows.
Some board members said berms are unnecessary for the project’s geometry and that adding curbing could force water to flow to unintended places; others noted that conservation and engineering review can still address drainage if the project later implicates wetlands or disturbed-area thresholds. The board moved to approve the waiver request by roll call.
The board closed the public hearing for 24 Trasseline after the vote. The waiver approval pertains to the subdivision/waiver request only; any future construction or changes that affect drainage or require conservation review will follow applicable permitting and technical review.
