McComb board approves budget clarification, audit contract and multiple vendor agreements

The board approved by motion and voice vote: consent agenda items 1–4; policy receipts and some policy approvals (one item, Policy #3, remained tabled as previously agreed); permission to seek bus-purchase grants for the 2026–27 school year; acceptance/pursuit of a cybersecurity grant; agreements with Lexia Learning Systems and Rosemont Consulting Services; an amended agreement for TeachBoost (the district’s evaluation instrument); a pay increase; an audit contract for fiscal years 2025–2027; an after-school program focused on attendance supports; and authorization to solicit bids to sell surplus school equipment. Motions were routinely moved and seconded by board members, with voice votes recorded as 'aye' or 'I.'
Attendance figures were reported for September with Average Daily Attendance cited in the low 90s (ADA reported at about 92.31%), and staff said they will continue parent and teacher engagement to improve on-time daily attendance.
The board also approved out-of-district transfer requests and personnel recommendations, then entered executive session to discuss two student matters and three legal matters. The meeting adjourned following the executive-session return.
Why it matters: The package of approvals governs district operations — vendor services used in instruction and evaluation, financial reporting and audit oversight, program offerings for students, and procurement of vehicles and construction services.
