Active Life center needs: Dan Wu requested a double-stack convection oven to address meal-service shortfalls (site cooks 250–300 meals daily, ~100 homebound deliveries); cost presented was $12,245 and staff proposed using CIP funds supported by $70,000 in year-end carryover. Staff also presented an $11,000 low bid from Myrna Painting & Coating to grind and replace the kitchen epoxy floor (work scheduled tentatively over a holiday weekend to avoid service interruptions).
Hogansville roof and juvenile court alarm upgrades: Facilities staff recommended replacing the flat roof at the Hogansville Active Life building with a TPO membrane (low quote $242,810 with a 20-year warranty). Staff also recommended replacing five duct detectors at the juvenile court rooftop HVAC units to improve maintainability and fire-alarm reliability; Siemens supplied the quote read in the packet (approximately $26,156.14).
Dumpster enclosures: Staff presented five enclosure quotes for parks and rec locations to reduce illegal dumping and improve site appearance; typical units were 6–8 feet tall with black slats and local vendor West Georgia Custom Fence provided the lowest unit pricing.
Staff said most of these items will be on the evening agenda for formal action and that civil drawings or additional detail will be provided where needed.
