The board approved the purchase authorization and declared two older trucks (a 2008 International and a 2007 Mack) surplus for sale.
Other approved items included an audiovisual upgrade for the county chambers recommended from Flats Company at $30,489; Siemens work to add duct detectors and rooftop HVAC units for the juvenile courtroom at $26,156.14; installation of dumpster enclosures at five county facilities with West Georgia Custom Fits for $20,530; and a TPO membrane roof replacement at the Hugginsville Active Life Center with NGR NJR Solutions Roofing for $242,810. The board also approved smaller facility projects at the LaGrange Active Life Center (a double convection oven purchase and an epoxy floor installation using funds received from 3 Rivers Regional Commission/Council on Aging).
On site planning, the board approved proceeding with professional civil engineering services for design and construction of a proposed new fire station to be located at 3157 Road and Oak Road to relocate Station 14 into unincorporated Troup County. Staff said the move aims to improve fire coverage for unincorporated areas and could co‑locate construction and maintenance operations.
All listed purchases and contracts were approved by voice vote; the transcript records motions carried without roll‑call tallies. Purchase funding was identified as CIP monies or capital funds (as noted in each staff presentation).
