The modification replaces older battery and inverter units with a newer model. Speaker 6 said the change reduces the system’s modeled capacity by a single kilowatt, from the previously referenced 4,948 kilowatts to 4,947 kilowatts, because of inverter derating in the updated configuration. "It's actually a kilowatt less," Speaker 6 said. The reviewer asked that the hood-style sound mitigation kit be included as a condition.
Speaker 1 moved to accept the minor modification with the sound mitigation condition; the motion was seconded by Speaker 3 and carried. Board members noted Graves Engineering’s capacity check and the recommendation from Chris (HMNH) that the quieter equipment plus a mitigation hood will align noise output with the town’s expectations and prior approvals.
The approval applies to the modification as presented; the board’s condition calls for the applicant to include the specified sound mitigation kit in final construction documents. The board did not set a new public hearing for the item.
