Senator Forrest Mandeville sponsored Senate Resolution 48 to confirm Peter Fontana to the Montana Board of Real Estate Appraisers, a licensing board attached to the Department of Labor and Industry. Dylan Klapmeier, the governor’s education and workforce policy advisor, said Fontana met the licensed-appraiser qualification and pointed to his extensive industry background and prior local-board service.
Quinlan O'Connor, chief legal counsel for DLI, also rose in support and offered to answer questions. Peter Fontana appeared online and thanked the governor and lieutenant governor for his appointment, noting his current service as board chair and participation in national harmonization work through the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Committee members asked no substantive questions; the sponsor closed and the hearing was ended.
