Public commenters emphasized civility and community values and urged the council to ensure accessibility and district representation in related appointment practices.
Mayor Dee moved to form a two-member ad hoc committee to delve into the handbook details; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. Councilmember Weierich and Mayor Dee (as noted in the meeting) were named to the committee to work with staff and return recommendations to the full council.
