Kristen, Revvie’s vice president of operations, described a program designed to serve a cohort of 10 LMI micro-entrepreneurs with an in-person kickoff, financial-literacy training, one-on-one technical assistance, and a capstone networking event. "We are an MBE certified enterprise, and we really focus on making sure that we provide not just coaching, but deliverables and really research-backed methods that will help move businesses forward," Kristen said.
Revvie’s team said the program is scalable (hours per participant or cohort size can be adjusted) and that local partnerships — for example, UW–La Crosse’s small-business development resources and local SBDCs — would be central for participant recruitment. Staff and commissioners asked about local Midwest examples, metrics from past CDBG work, and how the firm would coordinate with existing local resources. Revvie said prior CDBG work in Tacoma and Boston received high participant ratings and recommended that outcome metrics be defined with city staff at program launch.
Miss Keyes said the RFP process produced a single respondent and that the presentation was informational; action on an award will occur at a future meeting. Commissioners thanked the presenters and indicated they may follow up with questions before the next meeting when a decision is expected to be taken.
