After a recess the House Taxation Committee moved to executive action on several measures.
HB411: Representative Zona moved an amendment to change where new language is placed (relocating open-space exemptions into property-tax code and extending applicability to tax years beginning Jan. 1, 2026). The amendment passed on roll call. The committee then passed HB411 as amended by roll call vote, 12–9.
HB412: A motion to pass HB412 was moved; a substitute motion to table the bill carried by voice/roll-call and HB412 was tabled.
HB424: Members considered an amendment narrowing the definition of "Qualified Data Center," clarifying on-facility-side electrical generation/storage eligibility and emergency distribution language. The amendment passed by voice/roll call, and the committee passed HB424 as amended by vote, 19–2.
SB108: The committee debated Senate Bill 108; a roll call to pass failed (5 yes, 16 no). A subsequent motion to table SB108 was carried.
HB337: The committee took HB337 off the table. Members adopted a substantive amendment adding an earned-income tax credit (EITC) and adjusting income-bracket thresholds to reduce the fiscal impact; the amendment passed 19–2. The committee then passed HB337 as twice amended by roll call, 12–9.
The committee adjourned and scheduled the next meeting for 09:00 the following day.
