Glacier County OKs $56,935 replacement detention transport vehicle

Commissioners asked about budget availability; Speaker 5 said the detention budget included the item.
A motion to purchase the vehicle was made by Speaker 2 and seconded by Speaker 3, and the board approved the purchase by voice vote. Commissioners discussed keeping the old vehicle as a backup and the expected service life of roughly eight years for the new vehicle.
What's next: Finance staff will process the state procurement order and schedule outfitting and delivery. The county did not discuss a disposal plan for the older vehicle at the meeting.
