Pewaukee approves support for Wisconsin Rural Water Association grant and designates funds for radium removal

Staff said the state requires communities to ensure funds would be available to remove and remediate equipment if WRT were to default. Staff reported transferring $141.82 from accrued interest to bring the contingency account to a $30,000 target and asked the council to formalize the designation; council moved, seconded and approved the resolution.
One council member noted an accounts payable listing referenced the radium funding and observed the listing had not been included in the meeting packet; staff acknowledged the packet omission and the item was handled at the meeting.
