The La Crosse Board of Public Works approved routine consent items and a traffic change at its Oct. 6 meeting.
The Board approved the minutes from the Sept. 29, 2025 meeting on a motion by Council President Dickinson, seconded by Director Gallagher, with unanimous assent. Staff reported there were no bidders or proofs of responsibility for the procurement item on the agenda. Director Gallagher said there were eight construction contract payment items attached to the agenda; Gallagher moved to approve the payments, Dickinson seconded, and the Board approved them unanimously.
On a separate agenda item, staff (Deputy Director) explained that a resident on the 400 block of 14th Street South had asked engineering to improve visibility near an alley by pulling back parking on the west side of that block. The deputy director said a nonconforming wall adjacent to the alley made it harder for traffic exiting the alley to see oncoming vehicles and recommended pulling back parking to increase visibility. The Board approved the no‑parking zone on a motion by Director Gallagher and a second by Council President Dickinson.
All consent and routine items recorded at the meeting were approved without dissent.
