Board finds district in compliance on asset protection and public communications reports

The Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District board accepted two CEO monitoring reports on district operations: OE‑8 (asset protection) and OE‑10 (communicating with the public).

Chad Trowbridge, presenting OE‑8, summarized indicators for asset protection including property and casualty insurance at replacement cost, builders‑risk coverage when contractors are on site, errors and omissions liability, bonding for staff with access to material funds, and protections for intellectual property and records. He said the district conducts annual insurance reviews and maintains conservative investment practices. The board voted to accept the OE‑8 monitoring report and later voted the district in compliance with OE‑8 using operational expectation policy motion language.

Superintendent Holmes reviewed OE‑10, citing expanded communications channels including the district’s "Beyond the Bell" podcast, School Board Learning Walks, 16 press releases and 72 community events during the reporting period. Administration said the district has maintained two‑way public communications and expanded community partnerships, and has consistently published required board and strategic reports. The board accepted the OE‑10 report and found the district in compliance with OE‑10.

Both actions were handled as monitoring items; the board approved the reports and then used the standard operational expectation motion language to record compliance findings. No additional directives or noncompliance exceptions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
