The Senate Business, Labor and Economic Affairs Committee completed executive action on a slate of House bills heard earlier in the day and moved them to the Senate floor.
Most measures were approved by voice vote with proxies recorded; committee minutes show Senator Ellsworth registered aye by proxy on multiple items. Among the bills taken up and reported to the floor were bills covering workers' compensation court placement (HB 516), occupational-licensing standards and disciplinary changes (HB 435), licensing-evaluation standards (HB 238), apprenticeship pathways (HB 336), and changes to physical-therapy supervision (HB 454), among others.
House Bill 516 was the only measure that received a roll-call committee vote in executive action. The committee recorded an 8—4 vote in favor: Senators Curti, Novak, Morgeau, Ellsworth (aye by proxy), Hunter, Logie, Weber and Gillespie voted yes; Senators Trebes, Zolnikov, Phelan and Chair Nolan voted no. The committee recorded that HB 516 will move to the Senate floor; a committee member was assigned as the floor carrier.
Other items were moved by voice vote and announced as "passes" in committee. Committee members discussed floor carriers and asked colleagues to support bills on the floor where appropriate. The committee adjourned after completing the docket.
