Committee backs resolution celebrating Montana’s trade ties with Taiwan

Proponents from the Montana Farm Bureau Federation and trade advocates offered data estimating that tens of millions of dollars of Montana agricultural goods reach Taiwan and called the resolution a way to celebrate and strengthen a long‑standing trade partnership.
Committee members asked for clarification about export figures; Rep. Lier corrected an earlier misstatement and supplied a revised estimate during the hearing. No opponents appeared and the committee moved the resolution forward with a do‑pass vote.
